
Dr Sonali Ghosh, an Indian Forest Service officer with over 25 years of field experience in rhino-bearing areas, has played a pivotal role in managing reintroduced rhinos at Manas and, for the past three years, at Kaziranga—ensuring zero poaching and facilitating rhino population expansion. Holding a PhD from the UK for studying transboundary tiger habbitat , she is widely published with over 55 peer-reviewed publications and is an IUCN Kenton Miller Awardee for protected area governance. She strongly believes that heritage and community support are essential for GOH preservation in the South Asian context.
