Nilanga Jayasinghe is a director on the Wildlife Conservation team at WWF and focuses on Asian species, particularly elephants, rhinos, tigers, and snow leopards. Her areas of expertise include human-wildlife conflict management, Asian elephants, strategic planning, connectivity conservation, protected area management, and capacity building, among others. Nilanga has worked on Asian rhino conservation since 2013, and has largely focused on greater one-horned rhinos through support for rhino conservation efforts in India and Nepal, including rhino translocations in Nepal, the Indian Rhino Vision 2020, as well as protection efforts, disease surveillance work, reducing rhino straying from protected areas and reducing human-rhino conflict, habitat restoration efforts and RhoDIS implementation in India to track rhino poaching. She is a member of the IUCN SSC Asian Elephant Specialist Group (AsESG) and the Asian Rhino Specialist Group (AsRSG), as well as the IUCN WCPA Connectivity Conservation Specialist Group.
