Dr Narendra Pradhan

Dr Narendra Man Babu Pradhan has dedicated 38 years to the fields of wildlife ecology, conservation biology, and participatory conservation. He holds a PhD in the ecological from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. He has approximately 22 years of experience working with the government, particularly within the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation as Chief Ecologist and the Chief Conservation Officer for several protected areas, including Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition to his government work, he has also served as the Development, Research, and Monitoring Coordinator for WWF Nepal and as the Chief Executive Officer of Bird Conservation Nepal, a partner organisation of BirdLife International in Nepal. He is currently at the IUCN Nepal as Country Representative Dr Pradhan has authored multiple publications related to species and participatory conservation in both international and national journals.
