Asian Rhinos newsletter returns after twenty-six years
Number 4 of the AsRSG newsletter is published, reviving a series first launched in 1995 and dormant since 2000.
Asian Rhinos, the newsletter of the IUCN SSC Asian Rhino Specialist Group, has returned with its fourth issue — the first since March 2000.
The series was launched in 1995. Numbers 1 and 2 were edited by Tom Foose and Nico van Strien and appeared in January and October of that year. Number 3, edited by Foose, van Strien and Kees Rookmaaker, followed after a four-year pause in March 2000. There have been two earlier attempts to revive the bulletin since then.
This fourth issue marks a third restart, with a commitment to publish on a six-monthly cadence so that members and partners receive a regular, dependable update on Asian rhino conservation. It carries the Chair’s 30-Day Report for the period 18 April to 18 May 2026.
