Hanif is the Co-Founder of the Indonesian Rhino Initiative (IRI), an organization dedicated to supporting rhino conservation, ecosystem restoration, and community-based conservation initiatives in Indonesia. Prior to establishing IRI, he worked as a liaison for the International Rhino Foundation in 2016, facilitating coordination and collaboration among conservation stakeholders, government institutions, and local partners in Sumatra. He has extensive experience in conservation program management, restoration activities, stakeholder engagement, and donor coordination, particularly in landscapes associated with Sumatran rhino conservation. Currently, he is involved in overseeing the implementation of the FOLU Net Sink 2030 Norway’s Contribution Phase 2&3 project, ensuring that activities are implemented effectively and remain aligned with agreed targets, indicators, and environmental safeguards. His work focuses on strengthening collaboration between government institutions, implementing partners, and local communities to support sustainable forest and climate initiatives in Indonesia
