Bishnu Shrestha is a dedicated wildlife conservationist with over 20 years of experience in biodiversity conservation and protected area management in Nepal. He currently serves as a Senior Conservation Officer at the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation in Kathmandu, Nepal. Previously, Shrestha served for more than two years as the Chief Conservation Officer (Chief Warden) of Bardia National Park. Shrestha plays an important role in strengthening coordination and collaboration for the control of illegal wildlife trade and poaching, as well as in mitigating and managing human–wildlife conflict in Nepal. He serves as the focal person for the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau and leads the Wildlife Crime Control Section. He is also the secondary focal person for Nepal in the South Asia Wildlife Enforcement Network (SAWEN).
